351. I gave up on my Kimber 10mm. It was so picky on ammunition that I lost my faith in it performing after 10 days of wallowing around in the dust elk hunting. Beautiful gun and fun to shoot (when it worked). I bought a Glock 29… it has digested every factory load and hand load I’ve fed it.To test it, I swapped barrels with my 10mm Stainless II and the result was the same with the Stainless II barrel in the Raptor slide. The Raptor barrel in the Stainless II slide with the same mag chambered just fine by racking the slide. I’d never fire it like this but manually working the slide it operated. Apr 28, 2018 · Hi all, I recently purchased a brand new Kimber 10mm Eclipse and have been experiencing massive FTF issues right from the start. I tried several different magazines; Kimber, MetalForm, MecGar & Tripp Cobra. I also tried several different factory ammunition brands; Sellier & Bellot, PMC Bronze, PPU (Prvi Partizan) & Remington UMC. Playing with the 10mm is facinating. Accuracy in Kimber 5'' is great. Looking at BY THE INCH we can gain +100 fps with some ammo. That is worth persuing for hunting and/or long range shooting. The longer sight radius can make it easier to shoot more accurately. The 10mm is very manageable in a 1911.

The good: The guns I had were actually reliable, no major issues in terms feeding, ejecting/jamming. At one time I thought Kimber was the top of the food chain, I really did have pride of ownership with them!

Keep in mind that the 10mm is a longer case and attempting to run .40's through a 10mm will result at BEST in a bent or broken firing pin due to head spacing issues. Like the other Kimbers that I had, they were all decent 1911's. They are definitely better, out of the box, than any Colt Govt, Combat Commander, and Delta Elite 1911's that I have ever owned.
