Front soft brush was failing to spin on my 810. I found that belt pully had only been pressed on and was now slipping after about 4 years. Fix was to Dremel a keyway on the shaft and inside of pully and drive a brad in to lock it firm. (see image close-up) I think this was really bad engineering by the manufacturer to just press this pully on.
Follow the instructions to restart the motor protective thermostat. Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Remove and empty the dust cup and clean both filters.
