I just barely got a new 300 win mag. And I am planning on shooting 1k+. But i am having problems figuring out how to adjust my MOA the right way. I'm having pretty good luck with 168 smk's load with 71 gr of IMR 7828SSC. I can't seem to find a load with 190 smk's. I tried around 70gr and they seemed hot, so I dropped to 67gr and they seem hotter. I have some flat primers with very slightly raised dimples. If your wanting to shoot a mid load, try some H4895. It is a better powder for the reduced loads and should be able to get something decent out of it. 4198 is very fast for the big jugged 300.. Check out Hodgdon's reduced loads on their site, they should have data for a 125-130 with H4895.Handloader. You don't want to FL size the brass so it headspaces on the belt, that will lead to early casehead seperation. After the first firing, just neck size until the cases start to get tight in the chamber.
